About Health & Fitness Mom
Woman, Wife, Mom, Personal Trainer & Nutrition Coach
Hi and welcome! My name is Nicole Johnson, and I am a married mother of two wonderful teenage boys. And, while I like to say I am a mom, I am a woman first.
I am also the founder of Health & Fitness Mom, a NASM Certified Nutrition Coach (NASM-CNC), a NASM Women’s Fitness Specialist (NASM-WFS), and personal trainer.
Here’s a little about my background and how I can help! When I was a teenager, I started exercising. I don’t even remember why but I liked it. I still remember doing step aerobics in my living room while watching a video before live-streaming and YouTube existed.
Before I got married, I was probably in the best shape of my life.
But, like many married women, I started putting on some weight. Then, I got pregnant and gained 45 pounds. I lost some weight after I had the baby but never saw my pre-pregnancy, wedding day weight. Two years later, I got pregnant again and gained 48-50 pounds. On my 5-foot 3-inch frame, you can imagine that was significant!
Once I had two babies, it wasn’t as easy to take them out in the stroller for a walk or take the weight off. They were on two different schedules for a long time, and I was building a business in the evening after I put the kids to bed.
I then went on vacation and saw a picture of myself in my swimsuit. Woah. That motivated me to get back to exercise!
To be honest, I don’t have a dramatic story about gaining 300+ pounds and then losing it. I don’t have drastic before-and-after photos to share with you. I am one of the “regular” stories. Up and down weight over the years being a busy mom and trying to sift through the confusion about what I’m supposed to eat.
High-carb or low-carb diet? High-protein or low-protein? Low-fat diet? Do I have to count calories or do intermittent fasting? Do I have to run marathons? Paleo, Keto, or Vegan?
The information is endless but how do you apply it to your life? That’s where I come in!
Over the years, I’ve done a lot of research, learned how to implement health advice in a practical way, obtained my NASM-CNC and NASM-WFS, and am a personal trainer.
I have been passionate about health and fitness for decades and I want to help other women like me…like you… become healthier. After all, looks are only so important (though feeling sexy is always good!).
Being healthy is the #1 goal! And, when you’re healthy, you look better, you look younger, you feel better, and you live longer!
